Near the Top
Above the Hillary Step there is a gentle slope to the summit. As we got closer, Lakpa Nuru yelled "Summit!!." All I could see was a mound of down suits through the thick clouds. I said to him, "Really?" I didn't believe it. We unhooked and passed a few climbers to join others on the top. Photo by Hiro Kuraoka
