Rubicon Peak

Rubicon Peak is a 4.6 mile up-and-back climb with 2200 feet elevation gain and gorgeous views of Lake Tahoe. These photos are from a glorious sunny Sunday in April 2021. I only saw four people on the trail, two were skiing. I wore snowshoes and wished I had skinned up on skiis instead. I was recovering from a broken fibula and thought snowshoes would be safer. No! The descent on snowshoes was tedious and tricky in spots. The top is steep. IN 2022, I returned on skiis! Photos are in the slopes/backcountry/rubicon folder.
