Puncak Jaya 2011

In 2011, Bruce (co-climber on Everest) and I joined four others (Ricky, George, John and Brett) on a locally guided expedition to Carstensz Pyramid in Papua. Also known as Puncak Jaya, at 16,023', this is the highest mountain in Oceania. Our expedition cost was $9500, half that of a western guided expedition. The climb was fun. The six day trek to base camp and four day trek out was epic. My foot is still numb. Several images are blurry due to my inability to keep my camera dry from the humidity and rain.
