A pack of 23 wolves (Wapiti Lake Pack) were hunting the bison in Hayden Valley. As the wolves approached, the head bison charged. It was incredible to watch the confrontation unfold over several hours. Due to their size, it typically takes a large pack of wolves to successfully bring down an adult bison. To show the entire scene in one image without zooming out and losing detail, the final panorama includes five merged photos in Lightroom. The panoramas here (and everywhere) are best viewed on a monitor. The wolves eventually took down one of the bison the next day.
