Sierra Buttes
In 1915, the Sierra Buttes Fire Lookout was built as a vantage point for spotting fires and in 1964, five Tahoe National Forest employees built a staircase to the top so my friends and I could climb it on the 4th of July. The wildflowers and wild clouds made for a stunning six mile hike with roughly 1500 feet of elevation gain. Go there if you haven’t already! Tahoe Trails Menu
