My dad used to tell me I should climb the Munros. All 282 of them. Well, that was not going to happen. Graham and I settled with the highest, Ben Nevis, aka The Ben (he climbed the much tougher route years ago). The hike up Ben Nevis includes roughly 4500 feet of elevation gain in a ten mile round trip. The ascent was beautiful and gradual and not too tough, but my knees screamed in protest on the way down. There are a lot of stone steps. Apparently an average of 150k people climb this mountain every year. We picked a sunny day and as you can see, the scenery was stunning. I was happy I carried my Nikon D850 up there and took loads of panoramas. The top of Ben Nevis is extremely exposed and can be dangerous in bad weather with poor visibility. We had the luxury of being able to pick a beautiful sunny and cloudy day to make our ascent.
